October Master's Letter 2026

Brothers,

Welcome to Fall!

Cue the "I can't believe it's almost Halloween" observation. It's all downhill from here to 2027: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, bam ... 2027.

I was 27 in the year 2000, so 2027 will be the year I will have spent equal time in the 20th as the 21st century.

When I was a kid the year 2000 was a far off world of science fiction. And now here I am, no flying car, but soon to have spent as much time before "the future" as after.

No laser guns, no moon bases, this isn't the future I imagined but it's the future we have. Memento Mori gentlemen, live and enjoy the future we've been given. No space elevators or alien friends but at least the robot friends and AI friends seem to be panning out.

As I strive to be a little better of a man each day, part of that is to remember to live, to be present, and enjoy what I have.

I guess what I'm saying in a lot of words is "let's enjoy our October together".

Last month we passed some Fellowcrafts, we raised some Masters, this month we'll raise some more.

But we didn't have enough brothers on the fifth Wednesday so our Master degrees were both short form.

So please if you can, come to our special communication on the 3rd Wednesday of October, so we can have enough Fellowcrafts to do a long form degree especially for the new Master Masons to see.

But before that, don't forget this Wednesday is our regular communication: dinner at 6, meeting at 7.

We might have some very controversial new business so you likely should attend.

Hope to see you there!

S&F,

Steven Moazami
Worshipful Master
