Brethren!

It's that time of year again! Where I complain about the days getting shorter and shorter as we approach fall. It's all downhill until that winter solstice, gents. Now if you'll indulge me in a little more complaining ...

There is an English expression "May you live in interesting times" that is often purported to be a Chinese curse. The curse being that the "interesting" part is interesting bad, not interesting good.

Well brothers, I have had an interesting summer. From broken puppy legs to emergency trips to West Virginia (to talk inlaws off of cliffs) to health scares with MRIs and more, we've run the gamut of reasons to flail around with our heads on fire. All the while doing the scheduled things like summer camps and moving kids into college dorms. Not to mention the wildfire smoke and the diarrhea lettuce and the heatwaves everyone had to endure! Good thing I was already bald and tired looking!

Anyway I hope you and your families had a wonderful summer with nothing of interest to note!

I am glad to return to lodge brothers, to return to some level of normalcy, if such a thing even exists anymore. And I hope you too are looking forward to it, let us support each other to achieve normalcy together.

I want to thank all of you for bearing with me this year and especially for all your love and support without which I couldn't do this.

And of course a big thanks to all the officers for all their hard work making the lodge run so well!

Tomorrow, Wednesday September 2nd is our next regular communication as we begin to close out the year strongly ... but not too interestingly.
